The Ombudsman informally, confidentially, and impartially handles complaints, provides information and serves as a consultant to customers of Athens County Job & Family Services. The Ombudsman helps resolve conflict and acts as a liaison/mediator between customers and staff.
The Ombudsman can help with issues such as:
- Answer questions;
- Explain programs and services;
- Listen to complaints or problems;
- Assist with pre-sanction notices/hearings;
- Seek information and review the facts;
- Work to achieve fair and equitable solutions;
- Make referrals to community resources.
Referrals may be made at any time, especially for those with pre-santion notices/hearings; as well as clients may choose to contact the ombudsman on their own.
